New Year's Resolution

Cats Losing Weight

New Years Resolution: Get that Weight Off of Your Cat
By: Tippy & Alfred

One of the top ten most common New Years Resolutions that
people choose to do to change their lives is to lose some
weight. But what about your pet? There is an epidemic across
the United States of gross obesity in pets. Many people
think a fat cat is cute or funny. But a fat cat is an
unhealthy cat. Don't simply get yourself trim, but your pet
as well.

There are multiple reasons that you should consider doing
this:

One reason is that making a resolution to get that weight
off of your pet will be a constant reminder of your own
resolution, whatever your resolutions may be. Seeing your
fat cat toddling past you and trying to figure out how to
help it can really get you thinking.

Another reason for making weight loss for your cat a New
Year's Resolution is that getting weight off of your cat
means exercise. You will have to give the cat some kind of
exercise regimen which will probably mean that you will be
getting more exercise yourself.

Tie a cat toy to a line on the end of a stick or pole and
tempt your cat to chase it, or buy a wind-up mouse that will
run around the room. Exercises like this are fun for you and
your cat, and good exercise for you both as well. You will
also be spending more time with your cat. Having more time
with your kitty for whatever reason is good. This time will
not only make your cat healthier but create a deeper bond
between you and your pet.

It is also a fairly easy thing to switch your cat's food to
a diet version and only feed it when it is supposed to be
fed. According to the experts, getting the weight off of
your cat will increase its life span by at least two years.
Your cat will also be more energetic and playful with you if
it does not carry a lot of extra weight.

Make a New Years Resolution that will matter, not only to
yourself but to your pet. This will strengthen your
relationship with your pet and help your cat to live longer,
so that you won't be parted until your cat has lived to a
ripe old age, healthy and happy.
