Valentine's Day - Signs You Love Your Cat - 4

You know you love your cat when....
1. You smuggle your cat into the supermarket under your
jacket so that your cat can see all the cat food selections.
2. When you are caught, you wish your neighborhood
supermarket was friendlier about having cats in the store.
3. You tell the store manager who escorts you out of the
supermarket with your cat that they should not only allow
your cat into the supermarket but they should have people
giving out samples of cat food so that your cat can try the
different cat foods.
4. You then apologize to your cat while you put it back into
the car.
5. You don't put it back into the cat carrier in the car
because you want it to have some room to roam while you are
in the supermarket buying cat food for it.
6. You start worrying about the cat alone in the car when
you take two steps away from the car to go back into the
supermarket. i.e. "What if he gets lonely?", "What if
someone steals him?", "What if he gets too hot?"
7. You go back into the supermarket and the manager checks
your coat for the cat before you can get all the way into
the store.
8. You go down the pet aisle and buy 4 or more different
small bags of cat food so that your cat can try each one -
the expensive cat foods. And throw in some cans of wet cat
food in case he wants wet instead of dry.
9. You throw some cat toys into the cart because you know
kitty will just love them even though it has dozens at home.
After all, you need to apologize for leaving him in the car.
10. You wonder the whole time if your cat will like the cat
food you bought.
11. You get to the check out and complain loudly about your
poor cat in the car that is probably expiring from the heat
even though it's only 65 degrees outside and overcast.
12. You finally have all of your bags of cat food and forget
that you had to get a few things for yourself.
13. You go back out to the car to check on kitty and put the
cat food into the car just to make sure that your cat is
okay before going back into the store after your own
purchases.
14. You run back into the store for your own purchases and
do the mad marathon dash to quickly get them done so that
you can go home and take kitty out of the car.
15. You finally get out of the store with your purchases,
and apologize to the cat for being so slow to get out of the
store. Then you put him back into the cat carrier,
apologizing for confining him again.
16. You get home and take your cat out of the cat carrier
and carry him into the house first instead of your
defrosting ice cream in the back of the car.
17. You finally get all of your purchases out of the car and
the first thing you take out of the bags is the cat toys for
the cat to play with instead of first putting your melting
ice cream into the freezer.
18. You spend ten minutes playing with your cat and with the
new cat toys instead of putting your groceries away while
the ice cream has melted and is leaking out of the plastic
bag and onto the counter.
19. You come back into the kitchen and realize that your ice
cream has melted into milk and cream and sigh over that, but
don't mind too much because your cat needed you.
20. Allow you cat to help clean up the ice cream by eating
some of it.
21. Instead of cleaning up the ice cream and salvaging the
rest of your groceries from getting covered in goo you pull
out all of the cat food and open every bag and pull out
little dishes and put each one into its own dish on the
floor for your cat to try.
22. Repeat 21 but with the wet cat food.
23. You spend time petting and stroking your cat while it
tries the various cat foods and determine which he likes
best by how he reacts. Even the littlest twitches have deep
meaning.
24. Then finally put away your groceries and clean up the
mess. And realize that you have to go back to the store for
more of the cat food that your cat likes. And some more ice
cream.
25. Pick up the cat and carry him back out to the car to go
to the store for more ice cream, apologizing to him for
putting him back into the cat carrier.
26. Repeat 1 through 26.
