Chickadees

Chickadees are black ribbed, dark capped members of a
family of songbirds. They are mostly tame and friendly birds.

Sexes are similar and young are like adults.

Chickadees nest in cavities in trees and nest boxes.

Chickadees are easily attracted to feeders.

The only birds still called titmice are the crested North American species,
such as the tufted titmouse. It is a gray bird with rusty flanks
and measures about 6 in long.

Titmice act like chickadees but are larger.

The noncrested American species are called chickadees.

Chickadees are members of the family of passerine birds.

Verdins and Bushtits are small, slim, long tailed birds that
resemble chickadees in their habits.
