Equestrian Vaulting
From Wikipedia, www.wikipedia.org
Equestrian vaulting is most easily described as gymnastics on
horseback. The sport can help to improve rhythm, balance,
flexibility, co-ordination and strength while working in harmony
with the horse.
The horse is moved in a 15 metre circle and is controlled by a
lunger.
The horse wears a bridle, with the lunge line usually attached to
the inside bit ring. The horse wears a large back pad held in
place by a roller, which has two large handles allowing the vaulter
to mount and perform various movements with a great feeling of
security
Equestrian vaulting can be done as a recreation, in competition,
or as therapeutic vaulting.
