Intriguing Invertebrates
Many people keep invertebrates as pets, not so much because
they are cuddly and affectionate like a dog or cat would be,
but because invertebrates are both intriguing and unique.
Animals are grouped into two main groups, vertebrates
and invertebrates. Vertebrates have backbones.
Vertebrates include: mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians,
and fishes.
Invertebrates include: sponges, cnidarias, flatworms,
roundworms, segmented worms, mollusks, minor phyla,
echinoderms, invertebrate chordatates, and arthropods.
Invertebrates are animals that do not have a backbone.
They are immensely varied and wide spread, accounting for
about 97 percent of all known animal species.
If you are one of the folks who keep invertebrates
