A list of the types of Types & Varieties of Goldfish

Goldfish (Carassius auratus) belong to the family Cyprinidae.

Goldfish are originally from the Eastern part of Asia and Siberia
to China. They are now widely found across most of Europe.

Goldfish are very similar in form and shape to the carp.

The natural coloring of Goldfish is grayish yellow or grayish silver.
All strains of Goldfish have been developed through breeders
from these natural colors.

Goldfish grow normally in all lengths up to 1 and 1/2 feet inches.

Goldfish like still or slowly flowing water with plenty of plant
lifes surrounding them. They will adapt to room temperatures,
however are best suited to outdoor ponds.

Goldfish are compatible with most other cold water fishes.

The male has a characteristic pearly formation
(breeding tubercles) at spawning time. Eggs are laid on
plants.
